Oh I see, I started with shared hosting as well but it's only $20/m to have my own dedicated compute 2vCPU/2GB RAM instance and so I'm not looking backMy forum runs on shared hosting with Apache so I'm not sure how much (if any) control I have over that - I will check. An upgrade to a VPS is in the works and that will be about your spec for starters, and would apparently double the capacity of the shared server but without sharing resources.
. BTW my specs are total overkill for my tiny forum which rarely sees more that 150 users over 5 mins span. I'd say 1vCPU with 1GB RAM will do just fine, you do want to get decent SSD drive thou as it will make big difference as your DB grows.
